One of the most famous of NZ's lodges, Hapuku was built "to give our guests a great night's sleep in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Located 12 kilometres north of the renowned, eco-marine town of Kaikoura, on New Zealand's South Island, nestled between the Kaikoura Seaward Mountain Range and famed Mangamaunu Bay, the Lodge is surrounded by a deer farm and a 1000 tree olive grove.
Designed by five generations of architects as a contemporary country lodge, Hapuku has four new luxury suites (opening late Dec 09), five luxury Tree Houses, a stand alone spacious apartment, and a restaurant offering local, seasonal ingredients.
This summer guests will also be able to enjoy the new outdoor swimming pond & heated 25metre lap pool, hot tub and sauna (opening late Dec 09).
Created by a family full of architects and builders, Hapuku Lodge and its Tree Houses were designed as contemporary country accommodation, its interiors and furniture handcrafted with local wood working friends. According to some guests, the custom designed beds "are the most comfortable in the South Island."
